Sex drove my life for many years. After I got married the sex was great for a year or two then it dried up. I was ridiculously angry since she also quit her job, thus turning me into a slave that wasn't even rewarded. It took me years to get out of the marriage and I went back a few times to 'try to make it work' since I was emotionally attached.

Now I'm single, starting over financially, living in a great little studio apartment in a nice part of town, and I don't care about dating. I don't know if she destroyed my sex drive or if I just got over it or if it's biological now that I'm a few years older. But as much as I love sex, I can go without it now.

I've regained my passions for art, music, writing. I treat work like a job and leave when it's done. I've had to learn the hard way to keep my distance from my coworkers socially, since one slip up with a girl you work with and she's got you by the balls.

But I got to say now I'm happy. I may look to date again in a little bit. But it will be completely on my terms, take it or leave it. No paying for drinks or dinner. Splitting everything, no chasing, no thirst, no settling for less than decency and respect. It's a good place to be. I consider it hard won freedom. I'm over chasing after sex and money. Just enough to get by and keep my minimum needs met. The rest is creativity and spiritual service that only men can truly understand and enjoy.
