Yes bless them, they had to, GOD FORBID do a job that millions upon millions of men did every day. Must have been terrible for them slaving away for a whole 4 hours without a tea break. I'm sure they would much rather have been in a field somewhere in france freezing cold, absolutely shitting themselves that at any moment they were about to be killed in one of a thousand horrific ways. This while looking at their friend's lifeless body and wondering where the fuck their head went and listening to the dying screams of the buddies all around them.

You got to leave your small town and live in the city on your own.

You got a good job, where you learned a skill, and got a good pay.

After work, you got to go out to the USO shows, pick up men on leave, and screw a member on and from every branch of the armed forces.

All without air raids, enemy armies over the hill, or the threat of invasion at all!

But the guys? They get a few days home before they get shipped off to some hellhole where they could be dead within 48 hours.

But we have Rosie the fucking Riveter being held up as some goddamn hero or heroes.

Fuck this narrative. I love Rosie, even if the reality aint as pretty as the fiction. To me, Rosie symbolizes "Yes we can!" which is infinitely better than "No we can't, and it's the patriarchy's fault!"

Rosie is a great idol to strive towards. If women in general were better self-actualizing human beings, that would be a good thing.
