If we are looking at just words separated from the meaning that are attached to them from real world events then some definitions of a feminist is believing in and working for gender equality.

In that case absolutely.

However being a feminist in reality has nothing to do with that, but lies in the spectrum from gynocentrism to outright female supremacy and male subjugation.

Women/Feminists marry trees, marry eiffel towers,self marry and do lots of crazy things. You can add a Feminist MGTOW to the end of the ever growing list of their absurdities; we could give a fuck.
