We are biologically programmed to consume as many calories as possible because we evolved in a time when we didn't know when the next meal would arrive. These days when there is an abundance of cheap food where ever we go it requires a degree of self control to not over eat. Women have less self control than men and are also lazier and less physically active. Consequently they end up fatter.

My ex gf loved food, haha. She was actually hella fit (uni athlete), but once her sports career inevitably came to an end, and she got comfortable in the relationship, she would always be talking about what we should get to eat, which restaurant we should go to tonight, I'm really craving this right now teehee, etc. Then she'd complain that she had gained weight and all we do is eat and drink, blah blah blah, and basically would imply that it was my fault. Well every time we'd go out to eat she would basically be matching me calorie for calorie. Like what do you expect, woman? You're gonna eat like your 200lb body builder boyfriend and not gain weight? Plus pretty much every time we went out to eat it was her idea, not mine. Can't they take even one iota of responsibility for their own lives?

I am going to guess that one could find a very strong correlation between single motherhood and the rise of obesity. It may not be causal, but I bet it correlates like a mofo! This issue has been studied quite extensively and is linked to socioeconomic conditions (shitty food is cheapest). Therefore, single mothers! No time for the kids, cooking is a chore as well as a tool of the patriarchy, so takeout it is! They get fat and so do their kids!
