I'd suggest you keep it as a hobby/side gig for occasional extra pocket money. I sincerely doubt it has full-time prospects. Can you imagine doing it 8+ h every day listening to people bitching about how you yadayadayadayada? I'd rather get married, to be honest. Which will not happen. But, otoh, might be only me.

It is a nice dream. I tried doing that once and he ended up paying a store owner four times as much. I still have the machine. So, for me, it didn't work out.

Maybe as a side gig in a big enough city, could you focus solely on that. If you're in a more rural city/town, though, it's more likely you'd be applying at whatever selection of computer repair stores/parts stores are around just to get your foot in the door doing something you enjoy - which implies you have the necessary training & certificates to have your application be taken seriously.

Fulfilling jobs tend to be creative journeys and not repetitive labor. Maybe you would enjoy computer hardware/software design?

With any dream though just know you will have to work your ass off and you will have years of failure compounded with the temptation of downtime.

That's one of the easiest things to do. Knowing how parts fit together is easy. Slightly harder is making sure you have the proper RAM chips, keeping in mind bus speed multipliers. Some hardware can be very expensive but if you're saving for fun, you'll do it, and if you're selling for profit, you make the money back if you sell in time. Take too long obviously and faster shit comes out.

For a real job just remember there's stiff competition because it's all about having the cheap supply chain and who you market to. Some people want amazing LEDs and other crazy looking shit and will pay the cash for it. Some people want down and dirty but with enough RAM and fast enough video card to just kick ass but from the outside you might never guess it's for gaming.

A company in my country has had success with refurbishing old laptops and selling them cheap to companies in bulk.

As others have said I would keep it as a side-gig until proven though.

Get a job at a computer retailer specializing in gaming hardware. Most of them have techs who assemble the parts for costumers who pay for it and do general diagnostics on returned faulty parts.

It's an entry level position though.

I guess so.. as in most things, its not WHAT you do.. It's how you do it. If you are really good, built yourself a brand that will allow you to built on.. if not, its probably not gonna work..
