This is what the majority of modern music is like sadly. Listen to the lyrics of any pop/country/rock song that had come out within the past few years.

If it’s a female artist, it’s usually about her no longer needing a guy, how she’s over him, he’s good for nothing, he’s lazy, etc.

If it’s a male artist you get shit like the song you linked. He’s always missing the girl, she’s the sunlight of his life, the perfect flower in the garder, makes his life bearable, etc. etc. And you know what? It sells. Because most women see an artist as someone that’s rich and popular and has money, and they think he’s singing about them. He’s the perfect Alpha male because of his music career and at the same time the beta provider that loves her and makes his life all about her.

I love Lena Del Ray, she goes against the grain and sings about her masculine man, how awesome and adventurous he is, how he makes her feel amazing, etc.
