'The Red Pill': Film Review

Red Pill doesn't approach the level of polish required to enter the mainstream, and many who might benefit from seeing it will dismiss it out of hand; on video, though, it will be embraced by the community it depicts.

I'm not gonna take the word of some Hollywood Reporter critic who is clearly judging this taboo-ish documentary on a still ill-regarded subject matter by it's execution and not more so by its content too seriously. If the MRA reps who were interviewed for this film are happy with finished product, then it must be worth watching. I will agree that it could fall prey to the "preaching to the choir" denouement, but at the end of the day, the fact that this documentary is being given the time of day enough to warrant a review is good press regardless of a lackluster critique. Lamentably, there is one statement that for the sake of all that is being fought for I hope isn't true:

...the film all but guarantees that the [MRA's] opponents will conclude Jaye isn't worth listening to.

And here's a quote that may show just whose side Mr. DeFore is on, but Cassie Jaye's final judgement on her once idolized movement may just sway enough people to reconsider (though it would carry more clout if it came from an Feminism A-Lister than this woman):

Who owns the word "feminism"?...One could hardly expect a documentary about the amorphous men's rights movement to answer such a question...That's especially true of a film made by a woman, who set out intending to defend the cause of equal rights for women and who ends her movie with the disheartening declaration, "I no longer call myself a feminist."

tl;dr

MRAs will love it, feminists will hate it.

We kind of already knew that, Hollywood Reporter. If anybody ever wants to be a spokesman for MGTOW (yes, I know we're not like that) don't ever write even one angry screed online. That's all any mainstream journalist will ever ask you about after that, even if was on your worst day and you've written hundreds or thousands of articles and posts since then. That's all that Hunted the Mammoth cuck is looking for when he lurks here: our angriest guy on his angriest day.

Roosh only ever gets asked about his rape article.

By that standard (dismissing all MRAs as "misogynists" because of Elam's and Roosh's angriest and least literal articles) can we then dismiss every word that comes out every feminist's mouth because of International Castration Day and male concentration camps?

I think I've seen enough. I read two of their posts. All feminists are hateful misandrist bigots. Censor them all! Ban showing documentaries about feminism as hate mongering propaganda! Sauce for the goose ladies. Sauce for the goose.

The movie received 9.3 stars out of 10 on IMDb. I've never seen a movie get anywhere near that amount of stars.
