The people in the comments section are revolting and are exactly what's wrong with society. "living to 90-100 would be boring" "who would want to live that long" THEN YOU're BORING, NOT THE AGE. "this man is strange" "From his description of his life, he is not "living." " (for apparently going his own way) "That is what people who do not get any want you to believe." you can almost predict the responses before they come "I have a feeling he's got Asperger's." of course, if he doesn't fit with my grossly close-minded view of the world that will eventually screw me over, then he MUST be mentally ill "Why not receive the free gift of salvation so we can live eternally with our Heavenly Father? 150 years is just a brink of eternity. All that ever lived came out of the womb and must die. It's foolish to live for this life knowing it won't last..." Yes, because we all know the entire point of a 60-80 year life is so that you can live eternally in Heaven. A life that was mostly out of your control from ages 0-20, and it's now up to you to figure out how to reach heaven. Makes sense.

Husks of human beings with no redeeming qualities. Hopefully only the best in society will get to take advantage of these advancements but we all know that we'll be paying for the retirement of these assclowns for decades to come.

I've been through things in my life particularly due to my stupid decision making but all I want is inner peace. That's all I care for, not having to worry or stress about a particular person or things. Only living on my own, hanging out with quality friends, and having money to take care of myself.

Hard to believe that guy can maintain 90 kg on just 1800 cal per day. Unless he's very tall.

But he's right that keeping your calories down makes you age better. I've been running a rhesus monkey experiment on myself for many years. I'm many years older than the guy in the article, and I'm still lean and out doing sports and lifting with no back or knee trouble or other illnesses. I keep up with guys in their 20s and 30s easily, but of course they're just average guys, not Army Rangers.

I have old friends my age who are more like the monkey on the right. One recently died of a heart attack. If you have even a little spare tire, you're probably taking in at least a few hundred too many calories per day.

A good article. However, rather than recommending we make personal sacrifice after personal sacrifice in the hope that things work out for the best, I would hope that science and technology (my understanding of what these things are supposed to be, at least) is that we would develop some kind of Wolverine-like cellular regeneration technology to help us live forever (while still having a blast living). That would be better, don't you think?
