Even that isn't real.

What would actually result if/when a woman really got a guy so pissed off that he wanted to HURT/INJURE her (not just do "dominance" bullshit) and punched with a haymaker, and then took her head and cracked/smashed against a wall like that (and BTW it wouldn't take some "He-Man" hyper-muscled guy to do) -- she would be (at least) "stunned" from the punch, and then probably unconsciousness & suffering a severe concussion -- IOW she not only wouldn't have been shouting "you're a coward" at him 30 seconds later, she probably wouldn't even have been able to stand up, much less talk (broken jaws tend to not work very well).

See that's one of the (many) problems with Hollywood bullshit around "fights" -- even before the present (absurdly ridiculous) "Mary Sue/Instant SuperHero Gurl Ninja" bullshit -- is that it's all ~~VERY~~ protrayed in an entirely unrealistic fashion.

Just like the "Romantic" film bullshit -- none of it has anything to do with reality.

Good point. I've never really analyzed that scene in terms of realism.

I mean it's definitely slightly more "realistic" than the ridiculously "choreographed" kind of western-bar-fight bullshit (with people breaking chairs over each other left and right, etc) -- or the even more ridiculous karate/ninja/superhero bullshit.

But it's still far short of what actual reality of those kinds of things (again especially head-cracked-against wall*) are like in the real world.

Again we're talking where someone has SERIOUSLY "snapped" and is intent on inflicting ACTUAL harm -- shit tends to go so quick that afterwards, no one is entirely sure WTF happened.

Hollywood really CAN'T show that, because it lacks "drama."

EDIT: Not to mention that if he had TRULY "popped" and gone in a virtual "hurting/killing rage" then after punching her and cracking her head against the wall (probably several times, and more severely/quickly than shown -- because actual "rage" doesn't stop to see results, there's no "scoring" going on), just a second or two later he probably would have crushed or stomped her ribs as well to make damned sure she didn't get back up.

And you don't just "get up" again after any of that -- you lay there dazed/stunned and possibly (a few minutes later if/when you begin to regain "full consciousness" -- i.e. your head stops "spinning") moaning/crying... and get carried out in a stretcher to a hospital where they TRY to stabilize you, stop internal bleeding, etc.

Here is what he should show his daughters:

This is a REAL WORLD "fight" (actual, security cam video footage) between a man and a woman.

Note how the actual "fight" (if you start counting when he first backs off and she moves in to take a swing/slap at him) lasts a grand total of maybe two seconds -- and that includes her attempt to slap/punch, his first "pulled" punch by him as well as her retaliation, and then his second real punch (which you can only actually "see" happen with the slo-mo replay) -- and then ... well, she's done & OUT, period.

Bam, she's down & dropped like a sack of potatoes. AND he was neither in some "killing rage" NOR was that punch he threw even remotely like a full "haymaker." (Personally I think it was ridiculous that they charged him with "assault" -- that video CLEARLY shows it was defensive/reaction -- BTW the charges were later dropped via a "counseling agreement" but I think the real reason the DA agreed was that they knew the case was "iffy" at best. What they should have done was charge HER.)

Also note that she's STILL out (like a sack of potatoes) for nearly a minute, and after that "partially stunned/starry-eyed" and basically disoriented & unable to stand/walk (even with assistance and someone lifting her up/supporting her) for another full minute.

Now granted, they had both apparently been drinking/were at least partially drunk (though neither was "staggering" as they got into that elevator) -- and that guy (Ray Rice) isn't some random/average tiny "milquetoast" office worker male (he's an NFL running back) -- but he's also NOT some "MMA fighter" or "heavyweight boxer" either; by which I mean he's not a "professional/expert" at throwing punches.

THAT is the reality of a slap-happy bitch VS an actual MAN. It's not "dramatic" it's not "exciting" it's not choreographed like some "dance" -- it's over and done with in less than 2 seconds flat -- Slap-Bam-Boom, she literally did not even know what hit her.

He needs to quit with the* "treating them with 'kid gloves' as if they were his 'little princesses' "* bullshit. He needs to let them know not just that "it isn't 'nice' for women to hit men" -- he needs to DISABUSE them of the bullshit they've been fed about women being "allowed/able" to hit men with NO negative consequences.

One of the greatest things my dad did was regarding my older sister. In grade school obviously she was much taller than me until we hit the point where boys get taller than girls. My dad kept warning her that I was going to be bigger than her, so she should stop picking on me the way she was. She didn't believe him. Eventually I was bigger than her, and kicked her ass soundly. She backed off after that.

But then, of course, AWALT, and she tried to get me to be an unpaid servant.

Decades ago there were a couple of sets of brothers in/around the youth group I worked with... and the older brothers tended to pick on (sometimes rather brutally) their younger/smaller brothers. I warned all of them that they'd better stop and thing, because within a few years, "little bro" wasn't going to be so little anymore, and in fact MIGHT very well end up being significantly BIGGER than them... and also that he wasn't likely to "forget."

In each case I ironically ended up being right... the littlest (youngest) brother ended up becoming the tallest/biggest in each family. (Not sure exactly what form of "ass kicking" ensued, but I'm pretty sure that it did... in one way or another.)

But really, that's trivial in comparison to the problem here.

These women are going to grow up THINKING they have "carte blanche" to become abusive bitches to their boyfriends/husbands, etc. -- i.e. that boyfriend/hubby will NEVER "hit back."

And for a while, boyfriend/hubby may very well NOT "hit back" -- but if they keep it up, if they keep on "poking & prodding the bear" -- well then EVENTUALLY he's gonna "explode" -- and the result (and the women) are NOT going to be "pretty."

I know several cases of women* who have been brutally "abused" (i.e. "beaten" -- black & blue, broken bones, etc). And of course cried/played helpless "victim" etc)... the REALITY of it is though, that they not only HAD IT COMING... but the only thing that was really "surprising" to anyone that knew the couple was that it HADN'T happened sooner.

And yeah, invariably the wife divorced and walked away with "cash & prizes" from the deal (though LESS than they would have liked, because when hubby gets locked up on a DV charge {and gets fired from his job, wracks up legal bills, etc} well guess what happens to the total amount of the "marital assets"? {and to his income/earning potential and thus the level of child support he can be forced to pay?}).

* Moreover, sometimes the women don't even STOP with "boyfriend/hubby" -- they think they can also get away with assaulting police, etc. And THAT generally doesn't work out as well as they have been led to believe -- sure the "pussy pass" MIGHT still get them a lesser charge/lesser sentence -- but there are still negative consequences. (And IMO, in the next decade or two, I can see THAT situation changing rather dramatically... the level of "pussy pass privilege" is rapidly deteriorating; it's on an exponential downward trend.)
