Based on this and this reply, I'm creating this thread so anyone that did something similar before could give us details of what and how they did it, and the results. I don't expect to be much surprised, anyway.

So, here is what I did:

- I was invited to be a model more than once since I was 16, so I will say that I do not look that bad, although to this day I got issues for being too thin(I'm 6' and had 140 lbs when I was younger. I'm around 185 since many years ago), so I always felt very insecure.

- at Badoo, in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, looking for women between 20 and 45, when I was between 30 and 32. Didn't have much difficulty to find anyone willing to come to my place (or vice-versa) at the first meeting, even after midnight.

- just for fun and curiosity, I filled my profession as "garbage collector". It wasn't taken seriously, so soon I changed to "doorman" in a residential building.

- for some reason many woman came to talk and asked what my profession is. I soon realized that almost all of them did not read anything I say in my profile. They just checked my pictures and come to talk with me.

- as soon as I said I work as a doorman and lived in a poor, but peaceful neighborhood, the talking stopped. One deleted her profile. A few, after I said I was lying, they weared the victim costume and started atacking me, calling me a liar, deceitful, untrusthworthy, etc. I might have done this with more than 50, but certainly less than a hundred.

- three women kept talking to me. One we just didn't get along well. The second looked like a nice girl, we dated for a while, but resisted to take the morning-after pill, "for religious reasons". The third one, also a nice girls, soon started to say how her house needs reform, etc. None of them got mad when I said I wasn't a doorman, i was just avoiding gold-diggers.

Another separate things that happened on the realms of internet that I find relevant:

- at the times of Orkut, I used to have an account with no pictures or personal information. I was just there for the funny communities. By chance, I saw at the subway one woman from these comunities. I introduced myself, talked during the trip, she met her husband at her station, and that was it. At the same day she was in these communities, saying how good looking I am. In months:

- A woman in a relationship started flirting me through text and voice chat. Months later she gets a airplane and comes to see me.

- Another one, to whom I barely toalked, went to Rio and invited me to her hotel room. I kid you not: 5 minutes later I arrived and she was on top of me with no clothes.

- There was a woman from a group that I was into for more than 2 years, that I was flirting without expectations. It was more a playful thing than any real interest. We never really talked much. One guy politely talks to me about how they are into each other, so, you know... I agree and stop. We end up having a encounter with anyone, and she meets me in person. less than a year later later she wrote a letter, saying how deeply in love she was, and a few inoffensive emotional blackmail, like she will prefer to disappear for a while if a do not feel the same.

So yeah, breaking news. Still, I'm very interested on what any of you has ever did similarly.
