So over the years of being indoctrinated to being a push-over, smiling, nice guy with no spine who must be agreeable to everyone lest he be disliked by someone or mildly inconveniences another it's quite difficult to go back to only caring about yourself and being 'selfish'.

What I noticed is that when people are dependent on me like forexample if I need to wake up at 6am to meet someone for a jog or get to a meeting or anything involving me getting my shit together on behalf of someone else, I am all over it. However when it comes to doing things for myself like promising myself to wake up to go jogging or work out or anything productive, I can't be bothered or it takes a serious amount of will power.

Anyone else notice this about themselves? Going above and beyond when someone is dependent on you but slacking on your own when it comes to things related to improving yourself?
