I'd say most mgtow bow out of pua culture because its the antithesis of mgtow. PUA are modeling themselves on what they perceive women want and then act the part. Its total subservience to the woman's stated desires in the hopes one of them will reward you with a cookie.

When and if they lie is really immaterial. If the women theyre targeting get bamboozled by their game its on them. No one twisted their arm to go home with him, we'd call that rape.

The pua is just there to provide the woman an illusionary man to have sex with.

All the seminars taught by Chad Thundercock (6 foot 3,well built, etc) that talks about being confident like that's all it takes without mentioning lifting, etc is full of shit.

This is why I'm undecided. I see that it's, mostly, a numbers game (you keep spamming women - you'll eventually get a bite), but being something you're not just doesn't sit right with me.

I also get it that the pussy is the end goal, and this just gives women power over men. I also genuinely worry that this may lead to addiction of sex (sounds kinda funny, but people are destroying their lives), plus of course there's a bigger risk when it comes to STDs.

I pretty much felt more content with making money, building my business, pursuing hobbies, etc, instead of constantly being on the lookout for some skirt (and all the associated drama that this entails).

Way back when I was a boy, MAD magazine ran a Dave Berg cartoon, in one of these some young men were bragging about their conquests the night before. The another man walked into the room, but was rather quiet about his activities. The other fellows began to pressure him to speak up, and he said "I've always noticed that those who brag about it the most do it the least". So--- I have a suspicion the PUA isn't getting near as much action as he dreams about. The action he is getting, if it's as regular as he says it is, is from women no sane man would want in the first place. Players attract other players, that sort of thing.

PUA skills works. For people who don't need it. Let me explain.

If a guy has 2 heads. I don't care if that guy read everything there is to read about PUA techniques. It's just not going to work. However, if a guy is hot. But just does not know how to talk to women. Then yes, the hot guy learns some techniques that gives him confidence. He shows up at the bar. He is cocky funny. And goes home with the girl.

It reminds me of an SNL skit. A woman wanted to be a hooker. So she bought a book on "How to be a Hooker." She was not successful. She sues the author. In court, she said, "I bought the book and got no clients." The judge turns to the author and says, "You have anything to say for yourself?" The author says, "Look at her judge. She's UGLY!"

I don't have actual experience with PUA, so I can only observe and conjecture.

PUA strikes me as akin to the saying, "Fake it until you make it."

PUA is faking Alpha Maleness, until you actually develop that. It seems to me that using PUA techniques will cultivate a certain self regard and a certain focus on what you want - analogous to what comes from the dark triad components of a true alpha.

From wikipedia, the example given for "Fake it until you make it" is ironically applicable to PUA:

"Fake it 'til you make it" (also called "act as if") is a common catchphrase. It means to imitate confidence so that as the confidence produces success, it will generate real confidence. The purpose is to avoid getting caught in a self-fulfilling prophecy related to one's fear of not being confident..., e.g., by thinking, "I can't ask that girl out because she would sense my lack of confidence."

What is confidence though, why does it matter that a woman senses its lack? Confidence is a hallmark of the alpha male.

Blue pill morality? Why don't you want to have to lie about things? I mean, I actually don't enjoy lying either, but really this strikes me as an objection that women should be what they are, shouldn't look for what they look for. Hey, are makeup, push-up bras, high heels, etc etc honest? Women are looking for what they are looking for. If you want them, you need to appear to be that. You might as well see that clearly and act consicously; to me, PUA seems to teach that.

Reality shouldn't be what it is. You can fight reality, but reality always wins. (Sort of like fighting Authority, or The Law. Cue your favorite cover of those toons ... ) Women are what they are, and if you want to fuck them, PUA teaches you what reality is.

Or so it all seems from the outside, looking in and skimming some youtubes.

Generally, moves and routines are easy to see through-think of the common car salesman trope. It's easy to see through for some, but not all. With that said, it's also easy to spot a "natural". It's the traits of the natural that the PUA emulates. So there is a crossover. However, there's something that a PUA can't fully emulate and that is the "naturalness". The PUA may be able to work his routine to a very fine tuned form of "natural", but it will never be fully genuine.

I studied Real Social Dynamics (RSD) years back and I enjoyed a lot of their stuff. The stuff was not about pussy begging or putting women on pedastols or anything like that (in fact it was about having an abundance mentality where no woman ever held too much value to you). It was about self improvement in a lot of ways with the idea of becoming a more attractive partner. I don't know how other PUAs are but I never had an issue with their stuff. I grew a lot from their material and a lot of people who knew me during that time frame thought so as well (who didn't know I was studying it). The material helped me in a lot of aspects of life. I became better at standing up for myself and setting boundaries for what I'll accept for others, I stopped looking to others for their approval, I stopped listening to liberal brainwashing trying to demonize me for being a man, etc. I don't really understand why there's this bad blood (it appears) between the MGTOW and the PUA. I look at the primary difference as MGTOWs think women are not worth the trouble but neither groups are traditionalists, we're red pillers, neither group is full of manginas, etc.

Nope. It's a social skill and you may need it one day. I use it to manipulate women even when I'm not picking them up.
