The top commenter ( not the most supportive commenter on the thread ) says:

You don't want his gifts? They don't make you happy? Then refuse them. Taking them gives the impression that you are ok with him giving you gifts and you are happy with them. Stop bullshitting him and tell him outright that you don't want gifts unless they are in the form of cash.

I'm sorry, but I have no pity for you. You are in the wrong here. You should break up with him since he isn't making you happy so he can find someone who will appreciate his gifts and you can find someone who will give you money.

She's basically saying: "you have to be more clear about what you demand for service rendered". This advice is offered by other commenters too, the idea being: "communication is important in a relationship, you have to tell him you want cold-hard cash, not gifts".

Many lower comments tells her that she's responsible for her own bills. At the same time, no one is chiding her and shaming her for her altitude. It is always about maximizing her happiness. When they tell her that she should get a job, it's so that she can claim to be more independent, never about how it reduces the burden for her boyfriend.

When they discuss whether she should move into her bf. It's weighing her happiness and her independence against her responsibility about bills. Her boyfriend's happiness never enter into the picture.

It is just ridiculous that in this age where we're supposed to respect them, women are treated as children that are never wrong or bad. Imagine what the tone and attitude of the comments would be if the complaint came from a man and the question was:

"my gf is really supportive of me in my social life as well as my work. She keeps the apartment clean and cooks healthy meals for me. But at this time in my life, these things are just not that important. I'd much rather she give me blowjobs more often and with more enthusiasm. And it would be even better if she let me put it into her butt. This would make me so much more happy and satisfied than the home cooked meals and the clean apartment. Is it fair for me to expect this of her? Should I tell her this is what I expect?"
