I see this as a good thing, sort of.

Maybe next they'll order a woman to be subjected to sterility treatments for popping out yet another little reprobate. If this precedent sticks then it can be applied to women. Since women bear the larger part of the responsibility of carrying, bearing, and weaning the child it makes more sense to control that aspect. Doing it this way means the state will have to either force abort his next crotch fruit, throw him in jail (adding more drains to the system) or be found toothless.
