Long post. 1 year unplugged.
Jist: Just over a year that I've been unplugged and noticed how Redpill mindset improves friendships with other men and filters presently unecessary people.
Body: Being born in Africa where it is still strongly patriarchal, I always believed in a hierarchy with a strong masculine figure ALWAYS at the forefront. Although after immigrating to the United States at a young age where this structure isn't as strong anymore, I lost out on this upbringing because of changes in my family's dynamic. Dad was once a factory manager for a large pharmaceutical company, well traveled & from stories from my brothers very Alpha. Upon moving to the USA my father failed to re-invent himself which in resulted in my mother becoming the main provider of the house. Long story short, I developed a submissive & supplicating disposition because I was essentially mama's little boy, who looking back fed me lies to regress my masculine nature. At one point in time I even disliked my father, without reason, because of the way my mother (very alpha female) overtly talked about my father.
Fast-forward two years at age twelve, I began playing soccer. My soccer coach was an alpha mindset man. I loved him but hated him at the same time because subconsciously I was drawn to his commanding nature but my beta mind coupled with immaturity hated him. I kept going to practice, but was inconsistent at times because of laziness, regardless I was still a strong player on the team. I stopped playing on his team towards the end of high school because of my own immaturity & "betaness."
I moved away to university and began martial arts instead of soccer. Luckily my martial arts teacher is of an Alpha mindset with Dark Triad hints. Similar to my soccer coach, I was always calm & content with his presence as a young male but could never come to terms with his behavior that I observed. The guys in & out of the group respected him as did the females. I envied him. Regardless, I trained hard and as a blue minded college kid full of pent-up emotions this was always a good release. But, 2 years ago I reached a boiling point which led me too quit training for year and focus on improving my grades. Towards the end of my 1 year hiatus, RationalMale & Redpill entered my life, through my brother. I began training again during my last year in college and once our relationship was back to where it was, the conscious uneasiness I felt towards his Alpha personality was gone. Having swallowed the pill, I respected him more than ever. I view him now as a mentor & older brother and I am constantly learning from him. Through him I've learned the value of pumping iron as redpill encourages, the value in putting yourself first, standing for something, dedicating yourself to improvement and handling women.
As result redpill strengthened my bonds with other like minded men and has eliminated those who don't fit the bill. More importantly, I see my father in a different light and respect him as so.
There isn't much revelation in this post, but as a young male gaining his masculinity back, I urge you all to educate any young boys that may be in your life. You will literally save a life.
I encourage any and all feedback.
