Rites of passage seem to be intrinsic to manhood and are not high enough in societies' priorities to be taken seriously. Here is something that I have noticed. It seems that men these days have taken the process of losing ones virginity as the right of passage into manhood and not much else. the problem with this is that it they then adopt sex as the fullest expression of manhood. Dont get me wrong here sex is awesome, but if you are dependant on it for your feelings of masculinity then you are only masculine when a woman says so. This right of passage would give rise to many strange social phenomena and I suspect it plays a large part in the pussy worship of LAD culture wherein pussy has a severely elevated status.
