There have been a number of posts have alluded to the "female nature", how eons of evolution have made men and women biologically different, women are biologically less capable of certain thought processes, etc.

I saw the movie "Transcendent" in which Johnny Depp plays a programmer who uploads his counsciousness into a computer (while his body dies of cancer) and then goes online and becomes a very powerful sentient robotic/mechanical demigod. I also saw the movie "Childhoods End" which ends with humans transcending their physical bodies and joining an entity called "The Overmind" (which consists of countless members of other species who have also transcended their bodies and exist as sentient collections of energy).

While these examples are fictional, real-life instances also exist to a much lesser scale. Many ascetics (primarily men) would engage in fasts or practice celibacy or perform vigorous physical exercise to combat the biological urges to eat, screw, and sleep. MGTOW also understand that "love" and "infatuation" are mere chemical reactions to be controlled. As a result many MGTOW fight the biological urge to reproduce, essentially transcending a part of their biology (although I've heard some MGTOW are open to using artificial wombs but this method of reproduction is based on rational thought rather than hormones).

A few things I have wondered:

  1. What are peoples' thoughts about females transcending their biology? I'm not familiar with Catholic nuns but I assumed that they were the closest to a female equivalent of MGTOW.

  2. What are peoples' thoughts about trans-humanism? As people rely on machines to enhance their biology while simultaneously trying to create machines with human thought processes, there may be a point at which people merge with machines. Could gender become a social construct if males and females truly transcend their biological constraints via artificial enhancement?
