I've been dabbling/half assing with TRP for a little while now but I really started living and breathing this shit in the past year.
I started taking some massive action after becoming so fucking frustrated with my life to the point of tears. I told myself that as long as I am willing and able, I would never let myself get to that point ever again.
One night, instead of hitting up my weed man to smoke away (i.e defer to my future self) whatever crap emotions I was feeling, something just snapped. I deleted his number and anyone who could get me to him. John McAfee has a quote on marijuana, saying that the drug has the illusion of making you think you’re killing shit, but you aren't doing a damn thing. He also said that you’re better off shooting heroin, because you will hit rock bottom faster and pick yourself up sooner. Nothing has ever lit such a fire under my ass. Imagine having the thought “damn, should have started shooting heroin” running through your sober mind! You don't know if you're going crazy or not!
I transferred my obsession with drugs into getting the highest ROI on myself and my life. The following references helped speed up my transformation tenfold:
[Great List Of Non-Negotiables] (https://www.forums.red/p/TheRedPill/3396/the_great_list_of_non_negotiables)
I love basketball; watching, playing, practicing, talking about etc. Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs retired this year after 19 seasons. If you don’t watch the NBA whatsoever, for comparison Michael Jordan(GOAT) won 6 championships and was an All-Star 14 times, while Tim Duncan won 5 championships and was an All-Star 15 times. Tim Duncan was good at basketball.
His nickname was “The Big Fundamental” and he was just that. Very fundamentally sound. This list of Non-Negotiables are the FUNDAMENTALS!!!!! You won’t win NBA championships with this but they’re the guideline for the life-equivalent. If you wanna be a champion, your fundamentals have to be on point! Like the author of this post said, it’s that fucking simple.
[The Suffering of The Lost Boys] (https://illimitablemen.com/2014/05/08/the-suffering-of-the-lost-boys/)
I didn’t spend a lot of time with my father growing up. He was far from a deadbeat but the man had to bring home the bacon. I can’t blame him.
So I was raised by my mother, my sister, Crash Bandicoot, Ryu, Mario, Mary Jane, and PornHub. You can guess how that went….
My mom tried her absolute best but there was only so much she could do. She was a very fearful, negative and anxious person. This article helped me put so many(shit, I would say 90%) of my behaviors/thought patterns into perspective in such a clear and concise way; more importantly, there's methods on how to recover. I had to message the dude personally just thanking him for taking the time to write it because this shit a masterpiece. If you’re reading TRP then most likely you had somewhat similar circumstances.
Consider Ghosting A Lot of People After Swallowing the Pill (The original post got deleted but thankfully it’s still alive on TheRationalMale)
As you could imagine, I wasn’t the coolest motherfucker in my social circle.
Once I swallowed the pill and started getting on my proverbial feet (started getting some ass, holding frame, putting on a lil muscle), something weird happened. My circle started treating me worse! The fuck? I thought I could finally hang.
I’ve known these people for a while so I can’t blame them for thinking of me a certain way. So in order to continue growing, I had to cease all contact with them. I had to recently cut off the final dude from that circle because he cock-blocked me in one of the most pathetic ways imaginable. I’m even shaking my head typing this out. If you're considering cutting off some old people you used to hang out with, take it from me; dont fucking hesitate.
Models by Mark Manson
I was lucky to read Models early on in my journey because it was such a breath of fresh air knowing that I could get girls by being myself (I mean my best self, not my Street Fighter-Porn-Weed self). Actual science, facts, and results; this is an awesome game/dating/relationship book that covers a ton of aspects.
One of my all time favorite quotes is by Dale Carnegie; "Inaction breeds fear and doubt. Action breeds confidence and courage." All of these references were clear, concise, and actionable. I expect to become a better man even faster once my brain heals from all the drugs.
