I just read Rollo Tomassi’s The Rational Male - Preventative Medicine and before that I used to read some of the articles of his blog and I’ve just realized that the plight of men in this world is actually a scary reality to wake up to.
All of a sudden I understand where I’ve gone wrong in many dimensions of my life - putting women first, trying to play Romeo and even succumbing to the advice of “you need a woman by your side to feel complete”. Even this year I decided to just focus on me and me alone, and I’ve received a lot of resistance + the obvious advice around marriage.
I’ve just realized as a 28 year old, I’ve still got at least a decade of life ahead of me that can just be years of greatness, self improvement and living into my potential. I’ve acquired the services of a life coach, joined an amateur boxing club (the fitness required to box is insane) and have started recreational habits around reading and writing. And for the next decade, I’m just going to ensure that those aspects of me (career included) just come first.
A quote I read some time said “the world will fail you, but don’t you dare fail yourself”. It’s time I took total responsibility for my life and outcomes.
Thank you to the men of all ages that spew wisdom all over this subreddit. I am grateful 👌🏽
