They way they calculate the gap is an apples and oranges thing.

If they sum the money all females get paid, and the money all males get paid, and calculate the average, the result will never be equal, because the distribution of professions is different on each gender. So it doesn't make sense. I wonder how even the president of the USA did make that huge mistake.

The wage gap can neither be defined or measured for the very simple reason that outside government paid jobs where wages often are public information, no one is in the same situation. In the private sector, once you select a job title, you would have to compare degrees, negotiation for salary and raise, seniority, company health, actual worked hours, productivity... So many factors that make the exact measurement of a wage gap between men and women in the private sector a chimera. But it's good to talk about it if you well versed into virtue signalling.
