I was originally going to comment about this under one of the many 'men don't really find value in women' posts, but its really its own thing, and LONG.

I think that, EVEN IF a majority/vast majority of men are of the impression that women don't make good friends or aren't valuable to be around - they should consider that maybe they're just wrong. Not just because they are, but because its not even good dating strategy.
(The 'even if' is because I'm far from convinced it the case anyway.)

Simply - a hell of a lot of the things we think 'people are like', aren't correct. Especially once we throw gender in the mix.

The subreddit r/notlikeothergirls is pretty fun, I read it sometimes. Its where people post shots of social media/art/comments where people are saying "I'm just not like other girls because...".
The reason they're funny is because the caricatures of what 'other girls' are like are so ridiculous.

They tend to be something like:

Other girls: Love Justin Bieber, always wear pink, always trying to look sexy, obsessed with their phones.
Me: Love My Chemical Romance, wear black and ripped jeans, wants to look cool not sexy, t0TaLly rAnD0M!!!

As you've probably guessed, most of these posts seem to be made by girls who are very young. And therefore the comments on those posts tend to be less mean and more along the lines of good natured poking holes in the content, and "God, I used to be like this when I was 14 as well. I cringe so much now when I think about it!".

Because when you're a kid, most of your exposure to what people are like comes in the form of stereotypes, story characters who aren't well developed, and simplistic versions of what you've been told to expect. But then you grow up, and experience actual people, and you realise - they're not like that. Actually, people are varied and complex, and you're not unique and special for being 'different'. Because being different - not just like everyone else - is actually the norm.

Some of the last stuff to go is that 'women are bitchy', 'women just talk about make-up', 'women only talk about social stuff rather than higher issues', etc.
Its why you see a lot of those 'I'm one of the guys rather than hanging out with girls - because I like music and books instead of make-up and gossiping' types around longer/older than the 'I am the only girl that wears hoodies' types.

The idea that 'women are bitchy, men aren't... apart from the tiny minority of cool girl anomalies' in particular seems to be a common perception amongst adults, not just hilariously naive tweenagers.

What I'm suggesting is, despite this, considering 'women are bitchy' or similar as near universal truisms, is basically just the ol' "incredibly essentialist gender expectations are a bit silly for adults to hold, aren't they?"

PART TWO - HOW MEN AND WOMEN COMMUNICATE

I'm going to admit something that may shock and horrify you:

Men and women, on the whole, do communicate differently.

I, a peak brainwashed feminist socialist white-guilt SJW, believe that to be the case.
Whether its purely something that jumps forth fully formed from inherent biological differences (though all evidence suggests otherwise), or primarily due to girls and boys being socialised differently (this is the one that is true) - is another matter. But they do.

Because of this, single sex group social interactions especially tend to be different.

A good example is if you get all men or all women Whatsapp groups.

I'm in a couple of all-woman Whatsapp groups, primarily one with a couple of people where we've been friends since school. I'd say we mainly talk about what we're up to - our jobs, our partners and families - pictures of one's kids, our holidays. We discuss those things though (and support etc.), rather than just stating them at each other. Sometimes a bit of gossip, a lot of making jokes.
My partner similarly has a Whatsapp group with some old male friends from his hometown. The content seems to be a lot of football discussion, gross-out porn clips, 'Do you want to play some Warzone, bud?' and mocking each other.

So far, so expected and 'they'll take away your PC cuck card for this', right?

But of course - they're not always like that. My main girls group, we have got into some pretty deep and dark academic territory in the past. There was a TERF vs Intersectionality discussion that went on for days, to give an on the nose 'woman's talk but not social' example. There is also quite a bit of 'taking the piss' out of each other and meme-ing in that one. Another all girl group I'm in we know each other through social stuff, but quite a few of us are in the physical sciences, so science talk comes up quite a bit.

My partners 'lads' group - they're actually pretty good, as a group of friends, at talking about feelings. It's not unusual for him to tell me about someone disclosing a hard time on there, with the others stopping messing for a bit around to provide a listening ear and support. They are also post innocently funny videos of their kids that he'll show me. Amongst the league tables and scat porn.

So - men and women may communicate differently as a whole - but not even nearly all the time. People are pretty flexible communicators, and also there is a lot of overlap. Women can be bitchy. Men can be bitchy. It's not simple or poles apart.

With the 'lads' whatsapp group, because they're all pretty close, they will sometimes do things socially with partners along in tow, and we'll sometimes have mini groups for those things with 'the girls' in them. Because they're old friends, they joking and banter comes pretty fast - generally with less porn when we're there. And we join in, because though groups of women don't normally communicate that way, we can. It's fun sometimes.

PART THREE: WHY HAVE FEMALE FRIENDS?

Well, why not?

Friendship is a potential value women could have.

As far as I can see, these reasons below work:

1) Women make up half the population. Ruling out half the population as friends from the get go seems a bad idea, especially if you are say moving to a new city and need some new friends.

2) Sometimes your pool of people to talk to is small, say at a small workplace where there are only two other guys, but they're heavily into WWE and you can't stand it. If you are able to have and appreciate social relationships with women, you have options other than sitting all day with your head down playing solitaire or browsing reddit.

3) You might meet some women you get on with. Maybe you share interests and/or values and/or a sense of humour. Thats the case with most of my friends - male and female. There are probably people who share things with you and are also your gender, but it's not going to be all of them or even a majority. I mean, I'm not identical with my male friends. Some of them are into sports, and I don't give a shit about sports (disclaimer: some other women do), but not many people are just into sports.

4) Having friends is good because you can turn to them during difficult times. Some people on here claim that only male friends are useful for this, because women don't really care about other people and only want to use you for what you give them, unlike men. But that hasn't been my experience. So... okay.

5) This is the sex related one. Be having female friends, and therefore improving your knowledge of women and getting better at communicating with women, it might improve your abilities dating and make it more likely to have sex. Plus, women often have friends that are also women, and if you're a good sort, they might recommend you.
Now, TRP people might say: "But asking women what they like or trusting what women say is insanity! You can't expect female friends to give you a genuine account of female dating preference!". Ok... maybe?
But even so, being around women as friends gives you some women to watch and learn about that way, as long as its not a 'rage watch and judge' exercise. Even knowing about women outside of sex things - experience of half the population has got to be good from just a... knowledge of the world... perspective, right?

In short, the answer to 'why have female friends?' is the same answer to 'why have male friends?". Its that most people enjoy the experience of having friends.

PART FOUR: DATING STRATEGY

I'm not here to give you dating strategy. Anyone who thinks that 'just think about women in terms of getting what you want' is a dating strategy, likely doesn't consider my advice in that area worth much anyway. So there would be no point.

But I instead wanted to posit some questions about the whole 'believing women don't have worth other than sex/making kids is a dating strategy' thing:

1) Why do you have to believe that to fuck women? Women can be fun to have sex with and have other wider human value. They're not mutually exclusive. Not only that, you can be looking for a woman in a bar/on tinder just to have a ONS with, but still think that she probably has wider human value. I'm not saying that you should find out and cherish your ONS's deepest beliefs, desires, wishes and childhood traumas - just... admit to yourself that she is a person, so probably has them. That shouldn't get in the way of the sex. Might even help in winning them over, since you understand them better.

2) Therefore, is the point less about 'I can't fuck women I see as otherwise valuable', and more about 'If I see women as holding value other than sex and breeding, I won't be able to deceive or manipulate them into fucking me'?
Because if so... we're getting somewhere.
I still don't think thats 'the dating strategy' though. You can believe women have value and still manipulate them and do things you know might hurt them - you shouldn't, but you can.

3) Obviously, you could do those things - but unless you're a sociopath, you'd feel bad. Most people feel bad when they knowingly hurt other people. Of course, this 'theory' posits that women don't care if you feel bad - they're purely hypergamous agents driven by their function, only in it for when they can get. Only most of them of course - you might find a trad-con unicorn wife who hasn't been corrupted and actually loves you. But the majority of women - they don't care. They have no value outside of the dating market.
So you can do what you like - you can't really hurt them, so you can't really hurt from doing that.

4) It seems to also be useful in not getting your heart broken or upset about rejection. Women have no value, outside of sex and breeding. A woman breaks up with you, or rejects you? How can that harm your ego? The problem isn't that you aren't good enough, or were unlucky, or somehow you have less value than her - after all she can't have value of the real human kind. She might have an understanding of her place in the SMV (what seemingly women are supposed to have in the place of consciousness), and have perceived you to be of lower SMV. Might well be the case she perceives you were when you're not, since women follow the 80/20 rule. She thinks you're not a Chad. Thats ok though. Hardly anyone has as much value as Chad. You still have more value than her - so she couldn't possibly hurt you.

SUMMARY

The idea that women's only real value lies in sex or bearing children is clearly not true. The idea that the kind of things you value in men, you can't value in women, is clearly not true. It means you miss out on things like female friends, so there has got to be a positive reason to want to believe it.
It's not even true that thinking it lead to you getting laid - since it is clearly a wrong statement about the nature of women, and it is truly understanding the nature of women that allows you to figure out how to get laid, apparently.

However, it's a pretty useful false belief to hold if - as a man dating women - you want to lie to yourself, to protect yourself from emotional harm.

Which... okay. But maybe when you write your Red Pill essays about dating women in future, you could clarify that you mean "try and kid yourself that women don't have other value, so you don't get hurt" instead. Because then it would be easier to sell as dating advice, instead of looking a bit like a cultish attempt to deny reality.

[Disclaimer: I tried my best, when summarising "Red Pill" points of view and statements, to use paraphrased versions of or things very similar to statements I've heard on here. Obviously in terms of explanations and justification, they're my own thoughts. So you can say "No one has ever said that, this is one giant strawman!" if you want. But there you go.]
