For me, a major aspect of TRP is being able to maintain unshakable confidence in yourself and your reality despite being constantly tested and challenged by the world around you. This is also referred to as "maintaining frame" or "not falling for shit tests."
I found these two clips of Tom Hardy being interviewed to be great examples of this. It's especially impressive because he's in front of the camera at movie premiers where he is supposed to come of as affable and play along with whoever is interviewing him.
In the first clip the woman is asking him about his beard. The reporter is implying that the way Tom feels about his beard should be predicated on how women feel about his beard. In other words, women are going to decide if this is acceptable, not you. The power is with women, not you. In this case it's acceptable to her and she tells him it's sexy. He remarks jokingly that he wants to grow it out even longer like "Captain Haddock." She says, "That's not so sexy." His genius, unshakable response - "It's not always about being sexy." In other words, I don't give a fuck about what you or other women think. I live in my own reality. Take it or leave it.
The interaction following this is even better. She asks the ridiculous question,
"Have you ever had to fight another guy to get a girl's attention?" "No." "Ladies always go for you?" "No."
Again, the reporter is trying to set up a scenario in which the power is shifted away from Tom and in the hands of a women. He is going to fight another man for a girl's attention. Oh you don't have to fight? Women always generously choose to bestow you with their love and affection? With one word he completely shatters this test. No. He doesn't have to fight for a woman's attention and even if he doesn't get that attention it has no affect on him at all.
In this clip the reporter asks him "how to get a girl" and "what pick up line he would use." Look at the eye contact after she tries to force him for a third time to answer the question.
