Dude. This. Seriously.
Cuddling while sleeping is the most impractical thing ever. I used to think I could fall asleep like that but it just doesn't fucking work. Additionally, I like the AC really cold, and she didn't, so after a bit, the cuddling also got sweaty. The logistics didn't really work out. I like moving a lot, and she hated being woken up when I moved or adjusted my position. Finally I'd just turn around and cuddle with the pillow and sleep like a fucking baby.
Then I realized that most of how awesome I thought cuddling was, was more in my head than reality. Didn't take long to realize that the rest of it was in my head too. I fell for an idealized version of that girl in my head, and reality was far FAR more disappointing and I wasted a lot of mental effort, time and money compromising.

Then it would be "sleep with people like a fucking starfish".

lol, i think its specifically meant to illustrate using excess income to buy stuff you "want" rather than necessarily need. not having a woman in your life does tend to give you that freedom... i mean i spend stuff on new toys all the time that aren't a necessity, but do give me satisfaction - comics books, memorabilia, video games

Yeah, when you are single you can afford to buy anything you want, even as a student with limited savings, I can still buy the games that I want and get the hardware that I want for my computer, I don't restrict myself too much but I make sure that I will use what I buy and that it won't just sit there and I also make sure that when I buy something, the price isnt going to drop for a long time, this way I know I am making a good deal. I have a huge steam backlog with over 200 games and another 200 games from my brother's account that I can play with family share, and I haven't played most of them because I have to study, people would say I am wasting money but at the price that I pay, its not like the game is ever going to drop in price more than it has. And as a patient gamer, I can afford to have everything I want, and if a game is really good, I may buy it full price if I intend on playing it right away. I also really like comic books but I save a lot of money by getting them for free online, I do the same with movies and anime, and for tv shows, I only pay for amazon prime and a VPN so I have access to a lot of tv shows that cant be found on torrent sites anymore. I also check out blu ray deals daily and buy the really great deals on the movies and tv shows that are my favorites, because the streaming sites can remove them at any time but when you have them on blu ray, you have them forever and you also get a much better quality and bitrate. And because I buy blu rays only when they go on sale, I have a big collection that didnt cost me a lot of money.

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Why buy shit you don’t need?
[–]casket_pimp7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I think it should say "buy shit you want", meaning stuff you want but don't NEED, as in not a living necessity. Go to the bar and spend $7 on a beer, or $60 on a bottle of whiskey to take home. Get the motorcycle you've been looking at for years. If it makes you happy, forget the stress about spending the money and just enjoy it.
This is something I'm trying to learn. I was raised super frugal and college and a couple years after were only the bare necessities. I make a bit of money now so I can go buy a green Chile and bacon double cheeseburger. Yeah I can eat ramen for the 1000th time but I can afford a burger and will enjoy the fuck out of it.
