My dad is a great provider. He provided for his family through hard work. Outside of this, he did not teach me anything. Now I can live with this but wish I recognized it at a younger age because as a guy I do need some guidance that is for men only. Books ,YouTube, Reddit, etc help a lot. And am very grateful for the useful content out there. He is a beta. He doesn't feel the urgency to defend himself, to speak up, to be assertive, and always insists the woman (my mom or sister or any woman for that matter) is a victim and not at fault without asking questions. He is a people pleasure, is very passive aggressive, never speaks directly, never has an opinion on anything outside of "that's not nice." He just doesn't have that man like spirit in him. He is very passive and this is who he is everyone has their faults but it just really sucks because we disagree on a lot.

Some coronavirus story came out about women being in abusive relationships and are now stuck at home because of covid19 and he goes "awww thats terrible" I said yeah I get it that sucks but depends. He goes how? I said well if that was the woman's choice, if she chose to be with that guy and knew he was abusive and she stayed with him, that's her choice and I feel zero sympathy for her. Not my problem. He said that's not nice.

Would appreciate some feedback. I know this may come off as sulky and don't mean to be a complainer but realizing your father is like this is a very eye opening experience and could use some feedback.
