If you're a recovering pickmeisha who can't stop yourself from immediately texting back LVMs who don't deserve it, and don't want to be triggered by "Wyd" or "U up?" texts, here's a technique I discovered, sort of on accident, that works amazingly!

My Macbook and iPhone are connected through iCloud, so I can send and receive text messages from both devices, and it will show up on both. However, blocking doesn't work on Macbooks--so if you block someone's number, their texts will still show up on your Mac and you can text them back and forth from it. This can be slightly annoying when you want to block someone and have them STAY blocked.

However, something I've started doing is, when I want to stop myself from being a desperate pick-me and want to take a few hours longer to text back, I just block the guy's number. I spend DRASTICALLY less time on my computer than i do on my phone, so I now can go days or hours without texting them-- or even wanting to respond to their stupid texts, because I won't see them until hours later!!!

Perfect way to punish men for bad behavior without necessarily burning bridges with them.

Eliminates 100% any chance of their rude last minute texts getting any response. They will have no choice but to plan seeing you in advance, because you will be so difficult to reach.

Since I've started doing this, guys have been trying so much harder to pin me down for dates. They have no choice but to make plans with me far in advance, because I'm so difficult to reach and completely ignore all of their attempts at last-minute scrambles and late-night text.
