If it fails early on, it’s not going anywhere. I know it’s hard to accept but it’s best if you do. Don’t wish or wait for him to come around. Immediately move on, there is that cute guy out there you can focus on, not this emotionally unavailable dud who would just take you on a ride for his ego. A guy who really likes you won’t fuck things up. Just remember that.
