Hi all! My girl friends and I are all in our early twenties, and dating via dating apps is sort of all the dating we do at the moment. As many people know, you get sort of a mixed bag on those apps. We all consider ourselves feminists, and we would ideally like to be with men who are also feminists, of course. However, it can be really hard when you're first meeting strangers to figure out where they stand and how sexist and/or misogynistic their views may truly be, especially since a lot of sexism that is still relevant and harmful can be so subtle (especially amongst men in theirs 20s/30s today, at least based on my observations). Also, first date talk isn't typically centered on feminist theory and the patriarchy, at least not in my experience. So how can you best spot some of these "subtle" sexists early on?
I was curious to see if you guys had any stories of when you were first dating a guy (or even just meeting a guy as friends) and he did or said something that tipped you off to realize that this person was definitely not progressive enough for you.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
