I've always had a relatively short fuse, prone to irritability and bursts of anger. These are somewhat male dominant characteristics, and if managed correctly, can be useful.

Although I haven't look into it too much, I can imagine a large number of 'anger management' books trying to remove these characteristics, and that doesn't seem quite right with me. - the same vain as raising men as defective girls - But I do feel like control over ones emotions is something to be followed (stoicism and all that jazz).

I am wondering if others here have faced similar issues, and how they worked with them/mitigated against them - any advice is greatly appreciated.

Just to be clear, this isn't the 'unplugging anger' that is quite rampant here, but rather an undefined rage within, not directed or resulting from anything.
