The fact that you’ve posted here about it screams that you know you’ll regret this! Distract yourself with something else.
Call/text a friend, visit a family member (while social distancing of course!) Treat yourself to a nice meal and hot bath, pamper yourself etc, do something positive that’s all about you and not any LVM 😌

Don't do it. All that's waiting for you is regret and sadness.
Is there another friend you could text who would appreciate hearing from you?

Five seconds after you do that you will loath yourself.

Make a quick list in your notes of all the red flags he has shown you, trust me once it’s done you’ll feel no need to text him. Works 100% of the time 🖤

Make a list of all the shit things he did to you, said to you. Small or big. Just write it all down and you'll remember how he hurt you, how he made you angry, how he made you sad. If you have like a journal from times or a rant you wrote somewhere on reddit then read it back and remember how it felt to be hurt.

You're projecting an imaginary person onto him. You got let down enough to block him once. What makes you think anything will be different if you contact him again? Do you really want to deal with an LVM who thinks he has the upper hand because you missed him?

Make a list of all the ways he wasn't there for you EMOTIONALLY. How he let you down during your relationship. A list of red flags is great when you are thinking logically. But right now you are missing him so you need to fight fire with fire. Emotion with emotion. Trust me it'll work. But right after you make the list you need to have an activity ready to take your mind off of it. Like hanging with your friends or family. SOMETHING to distract you. Trust me the feeling will disappear after a day or so and you will be SO relieved that you didnt give in to the temporary insanity. You got this sis ❤

Same sister! Let's stay strong and remember that the more you practise something, the easier it will get.
It's like getting off an addiction. You know it will do you more harm than good, so use all the willpower you have got.

Everyone is commenting to make a list because IT WORKS!
--things he did to hurt you --things he did that were just annoying --any unattractive characteristics

Then maybe focus your attention elsewhere. He is not the person you would need him to be. So work on yourself. Why do you feel compelled to chase someone who doesn't meet your needs? It sounds like you aren't happy being alone. You will always have this problem if your life isn't satisfying to you.
Time to discover what it is that fills the void in your heart, the one that you're trying to stuff LVM in.

Delete his number and all the messages you have in your phone.
When the number is gone there won't be any way to contact him.

If he’s not the same as who he was at first, then who he was at first was not real. It was just an act and he couldn’t keep it up. The person he was at the end was the real him. Think of him as a stranger and who he was at first doesn’t count because that wasn’t the real him.

Don't do it. DO NOT. Especially if it's out of loneliness or boredom by chance--stupid COVID. Whenever I feel a pang of wanting to message or text my ex, I just look at a letter I wrote addressed to him (but never sent) post break up and it snaps me back to reality.
