Nah I didn’t need to be more clear. My words as I wrote them are crystal. Comprehension is hard for some people. A suicide attempt should be treated with absolute seriousness. Don’t invalidate female suicide attempts. The intention in both situations is to off themselves. They generally choose less effective methods because they don’t wanna leave a bloody body for their loved ones to clean up. But don’t get me wrong there are stats out there for girls who have blown their head off so I think it’s insincere to pretend y’all are the only ones who can have depression.

And the people I know and interact with do give a shit about boys and men killing themselves. Some even try to do something about it. What do you do? /r/menslib talks about it a lot and tries to come up with solutions without having to rag on depressed women.

I’m brown and depressed too. I didn’t mean to invalidate other reasons for being depressed. Obviously people have their individual shit in life. Nobody’s helped me personally about shit like that either. I think it’s rare for people to have someone “help” in that regard. That’s deep shit, and if you keep it deep nobody else knows. Or some know and don’t know how to help so they pretend.

When I say there are people willing to help, I mean there are people active in trying to change the structures that prevent men from seeking out help of their own. Like, people who volunteer their time at men’s shelters and shit. People who do want to help. It’s not “nobody gives a shit about men’s suicide rates.” On a cultural level, you’re right. But there are definitely men and women out there who are fighting for men’s mental health and a not insignificant number of those people are feminists.

There are indeed, if you go out and interact with the world and seek shit out you may be surprised at what you find. There’s only one universe. If you can think of it, it’s out there. I know it may seem hard to believe, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true. I’d say most feminists would agree that the men’s mental health is important and that men have their own issues in society. Sociologists as well. The people who pay attention to the overarching structures in our society see what’s happening and some are compelled to do something about it. I recommended /r/menslib because it’s a place where men go to genuinely discuss and share resources for shit like this. They’re lacking talking about black guy problems specifically but I’ve never said anything in your second paragraph so I can’t really speak to that.
