Facts Don't Care About Feelings, But Anti-Feminists Should

If you truly want to change the minds of Feminists, then being nicer to them will certainly help. The whole "here are the facts, accept it or remain stupid" mentality turns people off and actually hurts your chances to change their minds. If you are actually polite and respectful to Feminists/SJWs/people with opposing views, then they will be more open-minded to what you have to say, and may even reconsider their own beliefs after hearing your points.

My point is; manners go a long way. The impact of your words ultimately depend on your behaviour when conversing with others. Disrespect to one side will simply lead to disrespect to the other.

I just thought I'd make this post since I have seen so many anti-feminists behave so immaturely and disrespectfully to feminists purposely because they disagree with them.

I think your problem is that you think too factually, and that you don't consider any subjective thoughts (it's a bit pointless trying to make a point about the fact that I use terms like "I feel").

To clarify, when I said "saying all feminists..." I was talking about third-wave feminists. You have the idea that all third-wave feminists are "rude, entitled, and totalitarians" which just simply isn't true. Not all, not even most third wave feminists are like that, but you choose to surround yourself with that idea of how they act, and so you genuinely think the act like that.

Most of my friends are Feminists, and we debate regularly about a plathera of topics, from the wage gap to the idea non-binary people. We do it in a very respectful manner, and we do frequently change our minds on topics because of how much we consider each other's feelings. This even happens online, and I have even managed to change the minds of a Feminist discord server I joined recently. So yes, even though I use terms like "I feel" and "I think" I use them more out of respect for the sake of debate. Having the whole "Here is my opinion it is fact so you're wrong" mentality just doesn't do anything to help you.

lol I think I explained "Why not" immediately after the text you quoted. I don't agree with what my friends say about the pay gap, but I remember them making some very good points about it (it's been a while since we last debated on it I can't remember the specific points they made). I joined a Feminist discord server recently to converse with others with opposing views. After a while I got to know active members of the server, and began to have thoughtful and respectful discussions with them. In some cases, I have changed their minds on certain topics, however in other cases they have changed mine.

Also, that is definitely a mentality you support. You typed that all third-wave feminists are "totalitarian". That isn't a fact, it's your warped view of a community. Because t isn't a fact, and because you didn't start that sentence with "I think" (I think third wave feminists are totalitarian) certainly suggests that you possess this mentality. You also seem to have the "Here are the facts, accept them or remain ignorant" mentality which goes against the goal of trying to change people's minds, since it switches people off. Very few feminists (and people in general really) are willing to listen to and have an open discussion with those who are disrespectful, and believe it or not, saying the facts as they are can be seen as disrespectful. It's all about how you present those facts. Present them in a way that'll get people to think about their own views, that is the point I am trying to make.

This really means nothing, thats why i asked about specifics.

Maybe they were not such good arguments if you already forgot them.

I am totally open minded to change my mind, but please answer me this. Tell me specifically why the third wave feminists are not authoritarian, why they are not entitled, why they are not rude. Please, prove this with facts.

That's silly. I am not saying that you're, the argument is.

It's all about how you present those facts. Present them in a way that'll get people to think about their own views, that is the point I am trying to make.

I know what's your point, i just disagree with it. I don't think there is a way to change third way feminist minds when they don't care about facts. I'm still genuinely interested in the arguments, not totalitarian, based on facts that these feminist friends have given you. And of course in what have changed in you and you in them in that discord server. And again, ( 3 times already), I am not saying that we need to be rude, I am saying that it will make no difference.
