What kind of dog do you have? Do you feel bad having one dog at home alone while you work?

I have a tibetan terrier. She is the most loving and loyal creature around. And yes i 100% felt bad for leaving her alone. So i gave her to my father and now she had a yard and he is retired and home most days. She eats bbq with my dad almost every night. She loves it.

I have 3 female purebred shelties. (They're Collies) very athletic, very smart, very asthetically pleasing to look at and to look at in pictures. Great activity dogs. Females are about 25 pounds males are about 30

With that said, an ideal situation if you have to work a lot is to have a trusted person you hire to play with them a bit, walk, and take them out while you're at work.

If that's not possible, dogs can be left for while, but 8 hours would be tough and a bit much. I like to not let my dog go more than 4 or 5 hours without going outside to go to bathroom. (When I'm home I take them outside whenever they signal me obviously)

I have a white Siberian Husky. I LOVE HIM, he lives inside the house with me. I do feel bad leaving him alone, as I work long hours (usually 12's). And even though he behaves when I'm not home, 12 hours is just too long. I usually drop him off at my grandmas house on working days, it is not too far from me. She doesn't really interact with him or let him inside, but has a huge yard and I'm sure he prefers that than my small ass home.

Also, I'd go for the pit bull, lol they are good and tough.

I have 2 dogs. I work 10 hour shifts and when I lived in an apartment, I dropped them off at my parents (they have 4 pitties) so they wouldn't have to stay in a cage all day and then be neglected be me when I get home. I felt awful considering to keep them in my apartment just so I could see them when I get home. If at all possible, get friends, family, or a roommate that will care for them while you work.

Boston terrier, i fork over dough 3x a week to put her in dog day care. Home all day long alone is abuse.

The only dog at home is me! WOOF!

And he's real happy at home by himself all day. I leave a steak out for him, a few toys for him to play with, and he's content.
