As the title suggests, I’m asexual. I’m 22, Male, away studying at university, and I have little to no sex drive. I might add, it’s not that I never have feelings of attraction, it’s just that these are so infrequent they might not be there at all.
I might add, I lift, am a competitive rock climber for my university team, and try to work hard towards my own ambitions in whatever I do.
A little background: I first read The Rational Male around two years ago, and have re-read it a good couple of times since. I’ve also read most of the sidebar; although admittedly not all of it, and have been a lurker on this sub for a good while now. I have had two LTR’s in the past and both ended because I eventually realised that I just didn’t give a damn.
Another side point is that I’ve had my sex hormones checked to see if that was a contributing factor - they’re all normal.
It’s been a real bastard to come to terms with my own sexuality. I’ve watched all my friends come and go from relationships and one night stands over the past four years or so, and never seen the same myself.
I’ve tried approaching women (and men) and dating, but not once have I felt any need to sleep with these women, or to see them again. I can best describe it as an apathy - sure, you’re hot and neat to be around, but I don’t wanna fuck you.
This complete apathy usually works to my favour. Maybe it seems like I’m playing hard to get, or that I’ve got bigger fish to fry. So I’ve not really been short of dates if I wanted them.
The problem is that I’ve grown to hate being apathetic. I’ve gotten pretty lonely because I’m just not really “attached” to any of the people I meet.
The value I took from my LTR’s wasn’t sex, or increased SMV, it was companionship. I’m not really interested in sex (Although I can perform if required) but rather I just want some damn company.
Reading TRP posts and literature leads to believe that I need to be “Fuck Yes” about someone, before investing any time into them. But how does that work when everyone is a “No” to begin with? I can’t seem to find a good starting point and could do with some guidance.
It’s not something I feel I can talk to women about or easily disclose to other men. It feels to me like weakness, and I feel like it would come across that way. Shouldn’t a man have a sex drive? Shouldn’t he want to fuck me?
Those who I have spoken to about this have given me dreadful, blue-pill sympathies: “You’ll find someone will love you for who you are”, “There’s nothing wrong with you!”. I’m turning now to the manosphere because I really could do with some solid advice.
I guess what I’m asking is, how do I best live a red-pill lifestyle as an asexual man? How can I have this companionship without compromising myself? And how would I even start going about finding that?
