One of the greatest signs of civilizational decline: 4chan is the only bastion of absolute free speech left anymore, and its only a matter of time before the SJWs figure out how to shut it down. Fortunately, chan sites work on the Hydra business model: "cut off one head, two more shall take its place".

4chan was built and designed to be the high ground in the free speech wars, the absolute most difficult place to every impose censorship on. Christopher Poole (aka moot) created 4chan in October of 2003.

The key thing to know about that is that he created 4chan when he was 15 years old. The fact that the software for 4chan was written by a literal 15 year old is the power of it.

4chan has no dynamic back-end databases to store usernames, passwords or post history because........it was created by a 15 year old, who didn't know how to do that yet.

4chan doesn't store any user info, on 4chan, everyone is anon, because......it was created by a 15 year old who didn't know how to create user profiles yet.

4chan doesn't keep old post history. On 4chan, every thread has a timer on it, and when the time is up, the threat is permanently deleted, no exceptions, because.......it was created by a 15 year old, who didn't have the money to afford a lot of memory for his website.

4chan is a simple, basic image board, with nothing fancy associated with it, because.....it was created by a 15 year old, who couldn't afford a fast server and had no knowledge of UI design.

There is absolutely nothing extra with 4chan. It was created by someone who either didn't know how to do, or couldn't afford, any of the extras. The entire software to create a clone of the site will easily fit on every single standard USB drive. If the software is ever lost, literally ANY programmer possessing more programming knowledge then a literal 15 year old could re-create the software in a couple of weeks.....tops. I'm a professional programmer with 15 years of industry experience, it would take me a week to replicate 4chan, and that's a high end estimate based on my being busy with other things, as I think its probably closer to 2 days, 3 tops. The software is therefore quite literally unkillable. Even if every single copy of it was ever destroyed (and its super small file size makes that impossible) any halfway decent programmer would have no trouble re-producing it. You don't need a development team, you need 1 decent programmer with a couple of days on his hands. That's what the 15 year old had in 2003, it took moot two weeks, and factor in, he created it in two weeks despite having no idea what he was doing.

That same simplicity of design, the fact that it was created by a kid who wanted to learn how to program and was doing this project to teach himself to see if he could, is the entire power of it. 4chan has no mechanism to track users, it has no mechanism to spy on users, it has no mechanism to do any of that, except for ask the user for their ip address and then, assign a country avatar based on that ip address (ie, the absolutely most basic of functions). It has only small, short term database access, because big file sizes require money, which a 15 year old didn't have, and its database access stuff is extremely basic.

4chan protects people's identity because it doesn't have the technology to even keep track of a username and password. You enter in your comment, upload an optional image, you solve the captcha (which is definitely a pre-coded plug-in) and you post and everyone is anon.

4chan grew quickly because these restrictions on the site imposed by the fact that the programmer was a kid have also ensured anonymity. The free speech absolutists that 4chan draws have made the site so toxic that it is infiltration-proof (as infiltration-proof as any site can be). The fact that everyone is anon means there are NO thought leaders, there is no identity, everyone's opinion is equally worthless.

You can't play the race card, or the women card.

Indicate your race in your post, and everyone who replies to you will insult with the most racists remarks you've ever heard in your life.

Indicate your a woman, and its "tits or GTFO" for the next hundred replies.

I fucking LOVE 4chan. Reddit goes to hell, other sites will replace it and then go to hell themselves, 4chan is eternal, 4chan never changes.
