Women tend to overestimate their appearance. A 5 will consider herself a 10, A 3 will consider herself a 7. If she's openly admitting she's not super good-looking, then it's highly possible that she's hideous.

In any case, men tend to look better than women. All we need is to maintain our weight, get a decent haircut and a nice shave. Women on the other hand need to buy expensive makeup, dye their hair, wax the upper lip hair, get their nails done, wear fake eyelashes. It gets worse the older and fatter they get.

If a man and woman of the same age stand side-by-side with a bare face. 9 times out of 10 the man will look healthier and more attractive.
