I am not in an LTR, but have been in one before and rate it as an overall positive experience.

However, I personally believe the right time for LTRs is when you start wanting to reproduce. As the evolutionary purpose of monogamy is for the benefit to the child's psycho/social development, for which having 2 parents with a healthy relationship is important.

You could argue that it is also good practice to have a couple LTRs earlier, as a form of practice. Since LTRs and hookups are not the same thing, and by the time you're making babies, you want to have it down.

Important to note, even in an LTR you don't stop the poon chase. Don't cheat if you've agreed to or implied exclusivity obviously. Your word matters. But also keep your options open and make sure you're still "on the market" so to speak. Competitive pressure is vital to keep a woman invested. She needs to know other women are still interested in you, to confirm to herself that your smv is high enough for her.

Lastly, do whatever the fuck you want. You're your own man. You make your own decisions. If you want an LTR, then get an LTR.

I'm not guna tell you what you should or shouldn't do but I will say this.

If you choose to go the ltr path then choose it completely and don't second guess it all the time. I went on the exact same path as you did until I met a girl that I genuinely couldn't fault. (Ofc not perfect and AWALT etc)

I spent 3 years with her on the fence wondering if I should still chase pussy, fucking other girls and telling her she's not my gf so why does it matter and she put up with that shit for some reason until she realised I wasn't worth her time and honestly it fucking sucked.
