To be fair, it is kind of weird to refer to a woman above a certain age as girl. Like I’m not going to call someone’s mother or older relative a “girl”, I’ll call her woman or lady, it is more respectful and well-mannered because they are an elder. This is a part of having social grace. Also, calling a female coworker a “girl” can be definitely be passive aggressive if she’s above 25 and has kids or a husband.

When people don’t adhere to these rules, I tend to think of them as low class, because they usually are. It’s not about feminism, just having manners and being raised to be polite.
