I am trying to show my man the light. What are some subtle ways to introduce him to TRP? He's very sweet, not exactly egalitarian but he promotes some feminist ideals and sometimes we clash about that. He supports me in things I do which is nice but I think he needs to put himself and his needs first, and he has trouble putting me in my place sometimes and realizing that I'm just a woman and that my purpose is to serve and take care him and his family. I think TRP could improve our relationship and his life.
Other problems I have is I want to become the sort of person whose happiness is soley derived from taking care of and serving others around her. The sort of sweet and demure woman who takes care of everyone and is happy as long as everyone else is and it doesn't matter what she does professionally as long as her man is happy and taken care of. I want to defer to men more and let go of my selfish career ambitions, and want to have a big heart like my significant others mother. She was known as the neighborhood grandma and there wasn't a day when she didn't have children in the house or a hot meal on the table. She never let herself be idle or get fat and would routinely help out neighbors with childcare and cleaning if she had free time and did not ask for pay. She never asked for anything from her husband either and never complained if he was home late or didn't get her something for her birthday. She always deferred to men and never raised her voice at her husband or any man although sometimes he'd get surly with her if she didn't like what he cooked for dinner and in those cases she would apologetically cook his favorite dish. If he was late she never asked questions or demanded to know where he was going, what time he was home or where he'd been. She never whined about having a bad day and was only concerned about his. Whenever guests were over she'd make sure that all the men were comfortable, fed and had drinks and would busy herself with the children, cleaning or in the kitchen. Even though she didn't go out shopping or spend money she always made sure to look her best and wore dresses instead of pants and always made sure her makeup and hair were done up. Shes what I and many here aspire to, but we don't start off like that. We've been poisoned by feminism, made to feel like we can do anything and many of us have surly personalities and interests that just don't complement a domestic lifestyle or making men feel like men. Ladies how do you change?
