I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome as well as TFCC tears in both of my wrists, which basically means I am unable to lift weights or do bodyweight exercises.
I get severe pain in my wrists, knees, elbows, spine, hips, and shoulders from even bench pressing the bar or bodyweight squats or pushups. Everytime I try to do even something as simple as a pushup my wrists are in severe pain for the rest of the week.
I've gone to several orthopedic doctors and physical therapists. They've all told me that with my condition I should completely avoid weight lifting and bodyweight exercises and focus on light cardio like brisk walking or jogging. It's a genetic lifelong condition, so I cannot ever lift weights according to them.
My physical stats: 5'7 and 140 lbs Indian ethnicity Bad case of gyno Balding (shaved head)
What should I do? Has anyone else experienced this? How did you work around it?
If there's no way around it, what are some other things I can do increase my physical SMV without lifting?
I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you!
