My LTR is headed on a trip to Costa Rica with her friend, and it has made me think about on reading TRP the last year on how men instantly are nexting their plate/LTR when they go on trips. She has two teenage kids who she normally goes on trips with, and family, and this time going with her best friend who invited her.

The issue I have is people the instant assumption that she would cheat on me while on vacation, which seems to be the fear from some guys. I understand that she could easily be doing that with men around here, but still it gives me worry because like everyone says, you really truly don't know what goes on in Vegas. Now, she could live with maybe some sort of guilt, or maybe rationalize it in her mind, I'm not sure, but I'm not sure how she would respond if I said I was going with my best friend to Italy for a week.

My overall question is, also for those who have had girlfriends/LTRs they didn't instantly dump who went on vacations, how do you maintain levels of trust that nothing would happen? Or, if you don't trust them, why bother stay in a LTR with them, since you're only staying exclusive with her while she could be out with other guys?

I'm trying to be trusting and mature with a person who says they want to be exclusive, but it seems like men make up their mind to engage in a sexual situation with someone else, while women seem to be swept up in a moment of emotion/energy and not be responsible for it, especially when there are men out there looking to make those moments happen, as I see on TRP. She could rationalize it in her mind, the same way I could rationalize saying "Well, she was hot and she was talking to me, and was saying she had no plans for the night." I would want to be honest with the type of relationship I want, whether it be exclusive or no, and would feel guilty thinking that I told this person the type of relationship I wanted with them and they wanted, yet go and do something else.
