It often seems like women have drawn the short straw, but that’s not the case. Women have a superpower: they can create and foster life within their bodies. Men cannot do that. If childbirth wasn’t such a burden and responsibility, men would be jealous solely because women have more power than them. It is an awe inspiring power.
Men have their own superpowers in lieu of their ability to create life. They grow taller and stronger than their female counterparts. This adaption allows for humans as a whole to manipulate the environment around them, while maintaining the traits necessary for reproduction. Dimorphism also allows DNA to scramble together to make sure viruses and bacteria don’t figure out how to kill each subsequent generation if they crack one DNA code. Together, with our combined superpowers we form a formidable organism that has been evolving for millions of years.
Many of the problems women have with men and vice versa are due to this evolutionary hand we were all dealt. Because women’s superpower is more of a burden than the male’s, women see men as being privileged (and they are, but judgement and punishment isn’t the answer). If creation were something to envy, men would see women as privileged.
It isn’t society or men that choose women’s fate. The laws of the universe created your situation. At some point we need to differentiate between what can be fixed and what is screaming into the void of causality.
