No, no, no, no. This is an honourable thing. There is no free mixing, no riba involved, Islamic knowledge benefits herself, her husband and its good tarbiyah for her children. Besides, in an ideal Islamic school liberalism and secular values are not instilled into students. This is the perfect education for a wife and by extension I will say this, any other degree worthy topics (engineering, law, whatever) if these are studied in an Islamic environment where the abovementioned problems are taken care of, then there is no harm for her to study that.

Unfortunately, because the Muslim ummah are riding the coattails of the West, we don't have many inventions like this that can cater and benefit Muslims and to be fair, I don't know if such an idea is viable in West. I don't know what the legal arrangements of such a project will look like.

I wouldn't say that we brothers here has any vitriol for women pursuing education. It might seem like that from our straightforward and sometimes a bit harsh wording. But in most cases - we are generalizing these higher education women to be that unfeminine, stoic bitch who is all about being a strong independent wahman.

Yet there is great truth in this generalization. We can see what liberal education does to women. In fact it's not even higher education, it's just the unislamic liberalized education that turns an otherwise good woman into a insufferable shrew.

It's just the kind of education that depletes all the feminine qualities men appreciate in women.

Personally, I think -

Intelligence is attractive. But disobedience is much more unattractive.

And I believe majority if the men also think along this line. Why would it be a bad thing that my life partner is very intelligent and wise ? I don't see how that can be a disadvantage to me or her.

So, to answer your question would you carry this same resentment for a woman aiming to be a scholar?

No, In fact I want my wife to be a scholar. I don't pursue university educated girls (It's perfectly fine if somebody else wants to pursue them). I'd want my wife to study and read tons of books, be intelligent and become someone that I'd enjoy talking to. But I want her first and foremost, to be an obedient and caring wife.

From a fantasy POV, Say for example My wife is a walking encyclopedia, math prodigy and she remotely works on AI computing. But when I command her like a jerk to make tea in the middle of her work, and she stops her work immediately, gets up and bring me a delicious cup of tea with a delightful smile - WHATS NOT TO LIKE ?

Of course its a ridiculous amped up scenario for dramatic effect. But It gets my point across. Even the most insecure man wouldn't have a problem with such disparity in intelligence level. Because, at the end of the day intelligence is indeed attractive. What is NOT attractive - is unfeminine, shrew-like, rebellious behavior.

And sadly, we associate rebellious behavior, masculinity with higher educated strong, independent wahman. And for the most part, we are spot on.

I don’t think anyone has anything against women gaining knowledge. It’s just how and where it’s done that is the problem like the others mentioned
