I'm 21 yo, and for the last three years I've been attending a community college to get a two year degree in General Studies. The delay is due to failing and dropping classes. My GPA is far below what I'm capable of. I've never wanted to get a degree, but I've never wanted anything out of life due to my depression. It's a deep rooted kind that makes me think twice before getting out of bed every morning. These past three years since graduating high school I've saved no money, developed no skills or hobbies, have made next to no gains having never fully commited to lifting, and am still a virgin despite being relatively good-looking and only minimally socially retarded.
The depression has sapped my vitality. Because of this, I've decided I may need a kick in the ass, which the military may be able to provide. I imagine that a regimented life surrounded by discipline may do me some good. I'm wondering if joining the military is a reasonable strategy for combatting depression and improving myself, and if it's worth four years.
I understand that I'm not a special snowflake, and that my situation is not unique. Tell me what I need to hear. Thanks for your time.
