Ladies I'm struggling big time. I've been trying to keep my head on my shoulders but my career is stressing me out big time. I hate my current job and I hated my last one in the same field, most of it has had to do with company culture and office politics. I'm a food technologist and had originally chosen career because it seemed simple, fun, and rewarding so I could focus on my personal growth and having a family. It is none of those things and I desperately want to quit. It even pays poorly for the amount of contribution I've made to my company including saving their skin in multiple regulatory audits. It really hurts not to be appreciated on top of feeling stressed out and overwhelmed.
My company hires people to help who quit within two weeks; even at the managerial level. I've reported to seven different managers in two years. My position hasn't changed. It's damaging my happiness away from the office.
Anyway, complaints aside, I don't know what to do. I don't have a spouse with whom I can discuss transitioning to homemaking, and I have debt I'm determined to resolve within the year (under 10k including my car, but I'm paid so sparsely that it's still difficult to care for myself, rent, dog, etc and pay it off).
Does anyone have any experience transitioning careers or starting their own business? I have some skills in graphic design but my degree is in engineering. I think I'm so burnt out and stressed that I'm really struggling to see a way out and a find hope.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
