Colombia: please read up. It's a very good place, women make a sport of seducing foreign high SMV men. And they're hot in that latin way.

But there are definite no-go areas. Don't end up on a dirt road somewhere, don't take buses out of the city or between cities (fly instead).

Also, be prepared, there's a lot of poverty, and it shows in how infrastructure is built and maintained, but mostly, people outside the capital are happy with very little. This makes you an attractive target (just be aware)

Fun story: I once partied all night in a little town 2 hours from the nearest large city, by Jeep over potholes. Her family cousin was a DA, the place was on lock-down by a whole regiment of police and military for protection. She (the DA was a she), ordered the police to dance with her girlfriends :) It was very funny to see drunk hot girls dance with sober policemen.
