I have been married for 2.5 years and am unhappy. I am 35, and lived the MGTOW life from the ages of 22-32 until I got her pregnant and decided to marry her to give the kid a shot at a 2 parent household. We have two boys currently and I am now remembering why I naturally went MGTOW in my 20s. I know I need out of the marriage if I am going to be the best father I can be, protect my assets, and be happy. For background, wife is 24, SAHM. Boys are 2 and 1 years old. I make a decent salary and own our home in my name only, which was purchased during the marriage.

A part of me still wants the marriage to work, but I know that this marriage is preventing me from being my best self, which I need to be to provide the best example for my boys. I think I want to make it work just because I am very agreeable and don't want to hurt my wife, who has nothing without me.
Our constant fighting is bad for the kids, and it will only get worse. The conflict is based on fundamental difference between us and my bitterness when I look back at how much I had life figured out as a MGHOW. I don't want my boys to think that getting married and serving a wife as some sort of pseudo-leader of the family is what happiness is. I want to break the cycle.

Men, please remind me of the important things and provide guidance to this run-down, former MGHOW who is looking to get off the plantation and return to the simple joys of freedom.

What I am asking for is encouragement to get my ass moving on the divorce process. I have already consulted with a lawyer, he is just waiting on me to retain. Any thoughts are appreciated.
