I'm a 25 year old virgin male who has never been in a relationship or kissed a girl. Back when I was a teenager, I had no desire to do anything with a girl. There were girls who seemed to be pretty into me back then, but I decided to (metaphorically) push them away, preferring to be alone. This was largely because of the massive bullying I experienced during my middle and high school years, resulting in me simply wanting to be alone and spend my time outside of school on my computer.
When I went to university to study computer science, I decided to try and get a girlfriend since I finally began to feel lonely and also started envying seeing people around my university who were in what appeared to be happy relationships (which, in retrospect, were HORRIBLE reasons to want to be in a relationship). Instead of trying to meet women in real life, I decided to sign up for the online dating sites Okcupid and POF due to anxiety and extreme introversion. I would come to find that using these sites to meet women would be very frustrating. While I would get a decent amount of attention and responses, it was rare that I would encounter women that would put in any effort into a conversation. As a result, I went on very few dates from these sites after nearly six years of using them, and none of them went anywhere as well. In fact, on the last date I went on, one girl ended up getting a call from a friend and claimed that she had to take said friend to the hospital. Shortly thereafter, a girl drove up and got out. The girl that was on the date with me went out to the car, exchanged laughter with the girl that drove up, and the two left. I was infuriated and saddened by the result of the date at the time, but later on I would take it as a sign that the girl would have most definitely been a nightmare to be involved with.
Nowadays, I pretty much give no fucks about being a virgin and the like. I have a master's degree in IT and outright own a house, though said house is in a lower income neighbourhood that is in a part of my city that has a reputation for being unsafe. I've also become disillusioned with many other things such as the rat race, corporate America, the American Dream, and U.S. society in general, which I feel has contributed towards my renewed apathy in dating and such (and is also why I live where I do). I also suffer from PTSD from the bullying that I experienced when I was younger in addition to my mother's sudden death from medical negligence by EMTs, which happened when I was 19. My mother's death has greatly contributed to my desire to just go my own way and drift away from women and society in general. I just don't give a damn about being a normal person in American society, especially with everything being the way it is now.
