I don’t consider myself mgtow, but can relate to a lot of it. I guess I’m still down for whatever relationships happen in my life, but I’m not pursuing them or (god forbid) looking for fulfillment in them.
I just think that’s healthy masculinity, and doesn’t really need its own name.
Anyways, I realized my thinking has started to align with some people on this sub since I stopped looking for fulfillment in women through the ideas in this and a couple other books.
I used to obsess over it. And my counselor recommended this book. I was so pissed at first that he would even recommend it. But I got it, read it, and it called me out in some pretty good ways. It’s a buddhist perspective if anyone is interested.
Be the Person You Want to Find
I also think the fulfillment many seek so deeply in romantic relationships is the longing for community. Which is so lost in our culture. When I have a loving, tight community, women can come and go like the wind. I am already fulfilled they are just icing on the cake. That community starts with yourself.
Enjoy.
