Hi, I'm (17M) here and I do have a lot of questions or maybe this is a vent. I was raised on the ideal that marriage is for the good of society and it is for two people who love each other. But as I get older I'm coming to this conclusion that marriage in general is a COMPLETE scam or isn't properly constructed. I have read A LOT of post about men getting divorced and woman throwing away marriages all at the cost of attention. I have seen first hand the effects it can have on a man and I don't want to be in that type of situation.
When I was around the age of 12 or 13, my aunt and uncle got a divorce. I used to live with them and their 3 children who are my favorite cousins. But when I was that age I always wondered why they got divorced in the first place. My uncle was a strict dude but he wasn't an abuser or terrible person. I found out a year later that his wife had slept with multiple men and word spread. He didn't find out from his wife that she was cheating but rather from a community of people including my mom and his wifes co-workers. My uncle was never the same after that. When I see him, even till this day, I can see the depression and regret on his face. Even though he remarried, he still has that look and I know he isn't truly over it.
The worst part is that his 3 children don't even know that their mother cheated. She took him for everything he had and he lost the kids. He paid for her to go to college and she still used him. My oldest cousin(his son) has tried to commit suicide about 2 times now. As a someone who really isn't an adult right now. I just want to know is it worth it or do you always get stabbed in the back. I mean you think you know someone for years but it just all goes to shit the second someone decides they don't love you anymore. Is it's mens fault or womans or the society we live in? Should I myself get married? Do woman just want attention and don't truly love you? The thought of always being alone emotionally for the rest of my life because I don't trust woman scares me. And I know myself I'm not one to forgive.
I posted her because I want a response from men. I'm not trying to be sexist or anything.
