Hey guys just wanted some input regarding moving out for good from family due to a toxic female household. It's my mother, but anyway I basically been thinking to move out the crib soon, I've kept my peace with family and if it really went down I know I can use them as a safety net (with pay) to avoid any catastrophic economic hardship, my mom loves me yes but she's also abusive and disrespectful and I'm done with it, O don't fight so I keep peace.
However this whole corona shutdown has me unsure of how I should go about my business. I make 4400 month working as a nurse (I am not a hospital nurse), my work is essentially relative to my kind of work as I care for clients t their homes for the time being (so far all my clients have been healthy and haven't been around, as well as their families, their jobs have sense responded to the shutdowns and job restrictions, they are doing fine aside from all the changes to schedules). But ultimately the state pays for their child's medical needs.
Anyway I would be covered in the event of potential exposure with paid sick leave, and if it really pushed it, I have almost 2 weeks of vacation as well. I personally am not worried about my money as I have approx. 14K in the bank and my monthly expenses will not change dramatically if I live alone, I plan to pay approx. $1000 and know my electric is always sub $80 for myself, my food is $200 or less a month and right now I'm paying essentially the same amount if I did move out on my own (rent wise), $900 a month (rent my room and storage) plus $200 in groceries (I buy the stuff I use up like eggs, water, veggies and fruits, meats etc.). so it's approx. $1100 for right now. The place I want to rent has Washer and dryer in unit and I plan to order myself an adjustable bench and get a set of dumbells to avoid the gym (cancel it too), at least until things blow over.
Some concerns I have are the availability of resources to provide my needs (I mostly shop at BJs and today a lot of what I use like rice, canned goods and meats were almost gone, if this continues it would make it hard to stock up on stuff), I own a fore arm and practice regularly with it (less in winter) but have thousands of rounds of ammo for my AR and pistol, I am however kinda nervous about my family as well whom have jobs that could potentially be negatively affected, my mom is a home daycare owner and does credit reports and repair (I assume the daycare might temporarily shutdown if issued an order to), the next thing is my stepfather, he is a manager at a home improvement company (they produce custom products for homes) and also does landscaping (I assume his low staff home improvement company would stay open as it runs off less than 5 people, of which 1 or 2 are cleaners and he's the manager and does field work too), his landscape company may stay around simply because they do houses and he is under 10 employees and I assume some of his clients can afford to pay for their annual home landscaping (they are upper class, non mansion types). Do you think I have to worry about them? My elder sister is a delivery driver and CNA (which I think she left to do delivery to get more money).... actually I think they will do fine.
Honestly though I already have a lot of my own things and would only truly need my own internet, food and some new cleaning supplies and other home consumables like trash bags. Also I have my bed set and my PC/desk stuff and a few other random things (coffee table, guns and safes).
